MPS Vice President Don Mishory presented Sharepoint as an enterprise collaboration tool to members and guests of the ITKAN meeting on Thursday evening, September 25th in the Lincoln Room of the Sears Tower Conference Center. Mr. Mishory's presentation was part of the ITKAN's ongoing effort to expose its members and guests to the wide array of expertise among the leadership of the SPR Family of Companies.
The presentation, titled "Achieving Practical Collaboration Results using Sharepoint and other in-house tools", explored the growing opportunity for organizations to utilize the Enterprise version of the Sharepoint application to achieve a highly collaborative environment for solving complex business challenges. Sharepoint is the fastest adopted technology in Microsoft history with well over $1B in sales to date. This aggressive adoption has created a high need for technology professionals skilled in Sharepoint architecture, development and networking.
Mr. Mishory walked the attendees through a series of slides that depicted processes in which the Sharepoint application tools were used to build out forecasts, results and costing models, maintain versioning of documents within an organization as well as archive those versions, and the ability to incorporate advanced functionality of Excel into a Sharepoint environment to present and visualize data with the most impact for your audience.
The audience was made up of ITKAN members, SPR staff from several of the Families of the organization and both senior management and technologists from several companies with an interest in the Sharepoint story and its impact on an organization's ability to effectively collaborate around complex business challenges.
Mr. Mishory encouraged the audience members to ask questions and consider the breadth of possible applications for Sharepoint as a technologist, sr. director or interested recruiter or sales professional. The audience was very engaged and asked some insightful and provocative questions of Mr. Mishory.
